About China Finance Tools

Who we are and why we built these tools

Our Mission

China Finance Tools exists because figuring out money stuff in China is harder than it should be. Exchange rates are confusing, mortgage calculations use a system nobody outside China understands, and the tax code reads like it was written to keep accountants employed.

We built these tools to be the thing we wished we had when we first moved to China: simple, accurate, no-signup calculators that just work. No paywalls, no "upgrade to see your result" nonsense.

Our Team

Kai Xin

Founder & Lead Developer

Full-stack developer based in Xiamen, China. Built China Finance to make Chinese financial tools — tax calculators, currency converters, mortgage estimators — accessible to expats, travelers, and anyone dealing with RMB. All calculators are tested against official data sources. GitHub →

Lin Yutong

Data & Content Specialist

Based in Fujian. Handles data verification, rate updates, and writing. Ensures our exchange rates stay current and our tax brackets match what the State Taxation Administration actually publishes.

Editorial Standards

All financial data on this site is sourced from official channels: exchange rates from the European Central Bank, tax brackets from China's State Taxation Administration, and mortgage rates from the People's Bank of China LPR quotes. We update rates at least once per business day.

Our calculators are for informational purposes only. They should give you a solid estimate, but always verify with your bank or tax advisor before making financial decisions based on these numbers.
